The Leaf 

The Leaf at the Assiniboine area is where I had started volunteering at to be a teen ambassador. It is an indoor place that makes you feel like you're outdoors, they have 3 different biomes in there in which I feel relaxed in such as; The Mediterranean Biome, The Tropical Biome, and The Butterfly Garden. Each has their unique parts and plants and in The Mediterranean Biome, you will an abdunce of flowers as well as flower arrangements that are switched out every event or seasonal change which I think is really cool because it sets the theme for even outdoors! In The Tropical Biome you'll find a huge waterfall which is a cooling touch because it is extremely hot within that biome, as well as Koi fish swimming in the body of water. You can already guess it, but in the Butterfly Garden, they also have a little place where they store the cocoons and wait for them to turn into butterflies!

How does this internship connect to my project?

This internship was not only something I really enjoyed and learned a lot from, but it was also one of the place that got me more into plants. It was also the place that was able to spark the idea for me to use plants within interior design,  since it is an area that is designed by people to change an environment indoors! I want to be able to learn how I can design an area indoors for my School-Based Project and this internship is able to guide me into how I can arrange the plants in someway to create a certain feeling.
