MetLife | Basic Life and AD&D
Life insurance protects your family or other beneficiaries in the event of your death while you are still actively employed with the company. Compton Unified School District pays for coverage, offered through MetLife, in the amount of $5,000 for all Full‐Time eligible District employees. If your death is due to a covered accident or injury, your beneficiary will receive an additional amount through Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage.
MetLife | Supplemental Life and AD&D
In addition to the company-provided Basic Life and AD&D benefits, you may elect to purchase additional Term Life and AD&D insurance at discounted group rates provided by MetLife. If elected, you pay for this coverage with after‐tax dollars through convenient payroll deductions.
Employees who choose to purchase additional Term Life can purchase coverage up to $500,000 for themselves and their spouse and up to $10,000 for dependent children. Please see page 18 in the Benefits Guidebook for more details on Supplemental Life Insurance.
Below you will find the application for Supplemental Life Insurance (can only apply during the open enrollment) and Beneficiary Change Form. You are responsible for submitting the form(s) to the Benefits Department. If you would like more information on MetLife Life Insurance please contact the Benefits Department.

Beneficiaries are individuals or entities that you select to receive benefits from your policy. If you do not have a beneficiary, benefits are paid to your estate. Here’s what you need to know about beneficiaries:
You can change your beneficiary designation at any time
You may designate a sole beneficiary or multiple beneficiaries to receive payment in the percentage(s) allocated
