EASE | Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides you and your immediate family members with free, confidential assistance
to help with personal or professional problems that may interfere with work or family responsibilities and obligations. EASE
counselors specialize in family troubles, emotional distress, drug/alcohol problems, job anxieties/stress, and grief/loss/
transitions. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via a toll‐free nationwide number. In addition, Ease provides
face‐to‐face counseling and community referrals.

EASE Employee Assistance Plan
In addition to the Health Advocate Employee Assistance Program (EAP), you can access the EASE EAP. EASE provides mental health counseling and referrals for work-related issues and personal concerns, such as health, relationships, family/parenting, stress, grief and loss, emotional issues, use of substances, and balancing work and family life.
The Los Angeles County Office of Education provides this benefit at no cost. The EASE EAP is available to all employees and their immediate family members. These benefits can help you mitigate current challenges, add additional protective layers to support faster resilience, and provide additional support through times of crisis.
Professional counselors who can help with life’s challenges
Long-term assistance is available by connecting you to specialists, self-care groups, and other community services
Psycho-educational workshops on stress management, anger management, communication, grief, and loss
Mobile crisis response support, crisis counseling, and debriefing
All services are available to you and your immediate family members

Talkspace
Talkspace allows you to reach out to a licensed, in-network EAP provider 24/7 from anywhere. To access this benefit, call the EAP at (888) 625-4809 for a preauthorization code for your first visit. Once you have the code, you can register online. After you register, download the Talkspace app on your mobile phone. Talkspace is supported by Chrome, FireFox, Safari or Edge browsers on your desktop computer.
You can start therapy within hours of choosing your EAP provider. You can message them at any time—no appointments are needed. You will get messages back throughout the day, five days a week. You can also access real-time, face-to-face video visits by appointment when needed.
Psych Centers at San Diego
If you need an appointment through Optum Emotional Wellbeing Solutions immediately, Psych Centers at San Diego (PCSD) telehealth services can help. You can take advantage of group therapy and personalized therapy sessions through your Optum Emotional Wellbeing Solutions benefit.
Expedited appointments are available. You will first have to get an authorization code. Then, call PCSD to schedule an appointment within one week. Here’s how:
1. Contact Optum at (888) 625-4809 or VEBA Advocacy at (888) 276-0250 or email advocacy@mcgregorinc.com to obtain an authorization code.
2. Call PCSD at (619) 528-4600 ext. 7878 with your authorization code to schedule your appointment.
