Volunteer Opportunity

Hello, I hope this email finds you well. My name is Andrew LaRocca, and I am one of the leaders of Greater Charlotte Area Mutual Aid (GCA Mutual Aid). We founded GCA Mutual Aid to connect people in the Charlotte community to resources they need during the COVID-19 pandemic and foster solidarity, not charity. Our website consolidates information and resources offered by various non-profit organizations across Charlotte. On our website’s homepage, you can also find COVAID.co, an automated mutual aid platform that facilitates the process of matching volunteers with individuals requesting need. This platform provides a space for community members to support one another’s needs, such as contactless deliveries, making homemade PPE, and providing emotional support. To help identify ways to support individuals within our community, we are reaching out to ask if your organization would help us spread the word and encourage people to register as volunteers. In addition, we’d love to know what we can do to help support your organization and your efforts during these times of crisis. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at this email address or 951-205-0401. Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. In solidarity, Andrew J. LaRocca Community Development Coordinator Greater Charlotte Mutual Aid Cadet, U.S Air Force Academy, c/o 2022

Another Internship Possibility

Congressional Leadership Fund

Hello, my name is Lacy Andrew Crye and I am the Charlotte field director for the Congressional Leadership Fund, an organization based out of D.C. dedicated to supporting Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives. I wanted to reach out to you today to let you know that we have an incredibly unique internship opportunity in the area open to local high school students interested in politics. We are very excited to rollout this program and provide young adults a chance to get involved in the extraordinary political processes of our country.

With so many topics headlining today’s political conversation, it’s critical for young adults to have their voices heard, even if they aren’t quite old enough to vote yet. This is one of the main goals of our internship program. Past interns have found the program to be particularly helpful in enhancing their resumes for college applications with schools nowadays looking for motivated applicants who have a demonstrated interest in engaging the wider world around them.

I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. If you can forward this information along to your students, I would really appreciate you letting me know. It would be great to have some applicants from such a well-respected school. Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Lacy Crye
