EXPLORING PROGRAM

Career Survey 2019-2020

http://bit.ly/exploringsurvey2020

Exploring is a career education program for high school–age young men and women based on a unique and dynamic connection between youth and the businesses in their communities. Local organizations are matched to the interests of young people in the community using the career interest survey. Many times, these programs provide a hands-on experience, which could enhance financial success, career preparation, and college endorsements. Please ask the students to complete the five-minute online career interest survey.

Instructions to students:

  1. Go to http://bit.ly/exploringsurvey2020

  2. If you are on a mobile device, consider tilting your device to a landscape position so you can view content more easily.

  3. Please enter in your Name, Address, Email Address, Current Grade.

  4. Choose your top two (2) career choices and one (1) hobby choices.

  5. Click “Submit” at the very bottom of the page after making your four (4) selections.

  6. Your response on the survey may result in an invitation by a local company, business, or organization for you to participate in a hands-on career program in a field in which you have selected as one of your interests. Your personal information WILL NOT be shared with others.

CAREER & EXPLORING FIELDS

Exploring provides exciting activities and one-on-one mentorship for youth looking to discover their future. Whether you’re a local organization looking to strengthen the community or a young person wanting to uncover the possibilities of your future, Exploring is a great place to start.

Exploring is a worksite-based program of Learning for Life, a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America, for young men and women who are 14 through 20 years old (15 through 21 in some areas). Exploring units, called "posts", usually have a focus on a single career field, such as police, fire/rescue, emergency medical services, healthcare, law, aviation, engineering, or the like, and may be sponsored by a government or business entity. Exploring is open to all students. Explorer Posts typically meet once or twice a month over an 8 month period focusing around a career.
