Directions:

1. Go to bit.ly/fhsworkkeys ( all lowercase)

2. Choose from Applied Mathematics, Workplace Documents, or Graphic Literacy, and Click Launch.

3. Click Continue.

4. Choose how to practice - Choose Learner - An answer is chosen and then feedback is immediate. If an answer is incorrect, what was done wrong is revealed.

5. Students should NOT create an account. They will have to start at the beginning each time they use the practice tests, but that is okay.

WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate

A GOLD National Career Readiness Certificate is awarded to an individual who scores a Level 5 or above on all WorkKeys assessments—Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. This credential is registered with ACT in the National Career Readiness Certificate database and may be verified at http://www.act.org/certificate/verify.html.

I.               What Do I Need to Know about WorkKeys

A.                  The basic WorkKeys test has three parts:  Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents.

B.                   All of the skills tested have been deemed to be important for success in the workplace.

C.                   There is no penalty for guessing on this test, so be sure to attempt to answer every question.

D.                  Within each section, there are questions on five different levels of difficulty, from 3 to 7.

E.                   You will be taking the online version of WorkKeys with each section being 55 minutes in length.

II.              Why Should I take this Test?

A.                  By passing this test, you can earn a certification that can help you in your job search.

B.                   The Certification is called the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate.

C.                   Many employers recognize the WorkKeys Certificate and they seek it when recruiting employees.

D.                  The certificate tells employers that you have the skills to do the job…Add this to your Resume!

III.            How is WorkKeys Scored?

A.                  A basic passing Level Score on the test is 3, but the Level Scores range from 3-7.

B.                   The Certificate will place you at one of four levels:  Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum.

C.                   Bronze:  Test takers must earn a level 3 or better on each test.

D.                  Silver:  Test takers must earn a level 4 or better on each test.

E.                   Gold:  Test takers must earn a level 5 or better on each test.

F.                   Platinum:  Test takers must earn a level 6 or better on each test.

G.                  You will receive both a Scale Score (65 – 90) and a Level Score.

H.                  Employers are only interested in your Level Score (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum).
