My name is Elaine Friar, Rocky River's Career Development Coordinator. You can find me in the Career Center (next to Student Services). My husband, Jeff, and I moved to Charlotte in 2000. I graduated from Winthrop with a BS in Business Education and from the University of Maryland with a Masters in Education. After being a business education teacher for 22 years, I began my Career Development Coordinator position in 2015.

To be nominated, students must:
1. Be a Junior or Senior
2. In a CTE class currently with an A
3. Have an unweighted GPA of 3.0
4. Have had a CTE class before in high school
5. No discipline issues
6. Recommendation of current CTE Teacher
Students will be nominated at the end of first semester and in the spring.

Determine the level of education you will need.
Set short- and long-term goals. Don't forget those soft skills.
