The PATCH Program is an 8-week curriculum, held on consecutive Saturdays in the early spring. Participants spend the day shadowing healthcare professionals at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), learning how to conduct and present scientific research, and engaging in other personal and professional development experiences.
Note: To be eligible for the PATCH Program, the following criteria must apply:
1. Current high school sophomore
2. Student at a Title I High school OR you are eligible for free/reduced lunches through the National School
Lunch Program
3. You must be able to attend the 8 Saturdays on which PATCH Program sessions will be held (Feb 2-March 23) and submit and sign the Commitment Form at the end of this application, verifying your availability and commitment. (One excused absence will be allowed if approved in advance by the PATCH Program Coordinators and noted on the commitment form.)
