North Carolina Career Clusters Guide
Basic career research site. Provides an overview of many popular careers, including salaries by state and growth rate. Also provides a step-by-step list of items to pursue to accomplish the career goal. Includes college searches, but they ask for personal information, so do not use this site for college searches. You can use the website BigFuture to match your college major to colleges in the U.S.
This website allows you to obtain and sort various career data, also known as Labor Market Information.
For each state you can select to see a list of careers within one of the 16 career clusters or see a list of the careers in one of the six career interest categories. You can even select one from each menu to cross-reference career clusters and career interests.

Resource from Holly Summers with Charlotte Mecklenburg Library:
HI wanted to check-in with everyone during these unprecedented times to share an opportunity for teens being offered at the Library. We have shared College & Career Connections with this group in the past, so we wanted to reconnect with you to let you know about some updates especially over the last few weeks. First, we developed a new Road Map to help empower students to map out their journey for life after high school. It is also available in Spanish. This was created out of a program called My Next Step that we created to help teens answer three important questions: 1. Who am I? 2. What do I want to do? 3. How do I get there? Since the physical locations of all libraries remain closed, we are currently working on an effort to bring our My Next Step program online. Teens can find these programs on our online calendar here.
Book a Librarian – My Next Step: Book a 30-minute timeslot for a 1-on-1 video call with a teen staff member! This session is designed to help you figure out your next step to successfully plan for your future. Whether you know your path, or you are still figuring things out, we are here to help guide you. Library staff will help connect you with the resources you need to succeed. This will take place via video chat, which we will send you a link to after you register. Feel free to email us with questions.
CPCC Offers Job Coach, an interactive program that helps a student research a career, the education needed, the salary, etc.
CFNC (College Fund of North Carolina) offers three plan options for students. Plan for high school; plan for college and plan for a career. Click Here for the Plan for a Career link. The Interest Surveys are extremely helpful to students to consider a variety of careers!
