Career & College Promise (“CCP”) is North Carolina’s dual enrollment program for high school students. This program allows eligible NC high school students to enroll in college classes at North Carolina community colleges for FREE while remaining enrolled at their high school. CMS partners with Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) for our dual enrollment program. Students who successfully complete college courses can earn college credit that can transfer to other post-secondary institutions after graduation from high school. If you have additional questions about the program, email Mrs. Friar at elaine.friar@cms.k12.nc.us.

Grades will be sent by CPCC to the student's high school. The high school registrar will record the grades on the student's high school transcript. CPCC will create a college transcript and record the grades on the student's college transcript.
As set forth in State Board of Education Policy, identified college courses taken through the Career and College Promise program receive one additional quality point in the Grade Point Average calculation. This list includes courses that have been reviewed and approved for transfer by the Transfer Advisory Committee (TAC). To access the course list: CLICK HERE
It is the student's responsibility to check with Private and out of state Universities on whether CPCC courses will transfer.

Expenses
During the Fall and Spring semesters, tuition and student fees are waived for CMS students who participate in the Career & College Promise program.
Since RRHS is a Title One School, textbooks are FREE, too.
During the Summer Session, Tuition is FREE; however, students must pay "student fees" and the textbook cost.
Pathways **For constant updates at CPCC, click here (https://www.cpcc.edu/programs/dual-enrollment/pathway-details-dual-enrollment. You will see the pathways that allow less than a 2.8 and those that require a 2.8 or higher UGPA. Rocky River students need at least a 2.0 UGPA to participate in Dual Enrollment. RRHS school work and success comes first! If your UGPA is less than a 2.0, you need to focus on your RRHS GPA.
Students can only take the courses in their selected pathway. If students register for classes outside of their pathway, the college will drop those class(es). Students can be in two Career and Technical Pathways at one time OR one Career and Technical Pathway and one Transfer pathway at one time. You may pick one pathway only as well.
College Transfer Pathways (Must have >2.8 GPA)- Designed for students planning to continue their educational career beyond high school to eventually achieve an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at a community college or university. Courses taken through these pathways are eligible for transfer to all UNC member institutions, so long as the student earns a 'C' or higher. These courses will earn AP weight (+1). Please note CPCC can change Pathway requirements and courses. Students may select from the following pathways:
