FREE STEM Program at CPCC
I hope this message finds you well. We are offering a free 4-week academic enrichment summer program for rising 11th grade, rising 12th grade, and/or graduating 12th grade students that are interested in attending Central Piedmont as a duel enrolled or 1st time college student in Fall 2025 and studying Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

STEM Prep participants are enrolled in noncredit courses that provide them with project-based learning experiences. The students will also participate in hands-on, lab-based activities in their STEM choice and receive a personalized math enrichment plan designed to prepare them for college level mathematics.
STEM Prep will give participants an introduction to STEM topics at the college level. The summer session will be held for 4 weeks starting June 17 - July 17, 2025, in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm - 5:15pm. Also including lunch on Central Piedmont's Central Campus. STEM Prep completers will be given priority consideration for admission as a scholarshiped Honeywell STEM Academy Fellow for fall 2025.

Charlotte Mecklenburg Library College and Career Connections:
I wanted to shine a spotlight on our Road Map to Success challenge, since there's still plenty of time left this school year for teens to sign up, complete activities, and finish the challenge! This interactive challenge empowers teens to map out their college and career journey by encouraging them to participate in activities using local and national resources. This self-directed challenge allows teens to earn badges at their own pace, track progress, and lets them know when they've completed the challenge. Once they finish, teens are eligible to pick up a prize from any Charlotte Mecklenburg Library location and can choose one of the following: aluminum water bottle, drawstring bag, power bank, tablet holder, or a journal. In addition, we also have a grand prize drawing that any teen who completes the challenge by June 10th will be entered into for a chance to win a Chromebook. Since the challenge only shows up for those between the ages of 12-18, you won't see it when you visit our page. However, you can see the checklist of activities on our College & Career Connections page. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything from us, and thanks for your continued support of the Library!
