High school course scheduling for CPEC students

The Early College model "front loads" high school coursework in 9th and 10th grade. By 10th grade, students will take some CP coursework, and by 11th grade, students may only take 1-2 high school courses, with the rest of their coursework being completed through CP.

Please note: scheduling is done based on incoming credits. Students entering CPEC after 9th grade may be scheduled differently in order to meet high school graduation requirements.

English: All English graduation requirements will be taken at CPEC with high school teachers. Students will take one English class each year.

Math: Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3 will be taken at CPEC with high school teachers. We will teach Math 4 as an option to complete graduation requirements; the 4th math can also be met with a CP math class.

Science: All three science classes will be taken at CPEC with high school teachers.  All CPEC students will take Chemistry to meet the Physical Science requirement. Most students entering in 9th grade will meet all three science requirements by the end of 10th grade.

Social Studies: Students will take World History, American History, Civic Literacy, and Economics in 9th and 10th grade. World History and Civic Literacy are offered at the AP level.

Health & PE: 9th grade students will take HEA 110 and PED110 through CP to meet the Health & PE requirement. Students entering after 9th grade who still need Health & PE will be handled individually.

Electives: All elective requirements will be met through CP courses as students work towards their associates or transfer credits.
