My tips for a successful 9th grade year at CPEC:
Get to know your teachers, counselor, and administrators. They will be your biggest resources and cheerleaders!
Learn to study. Develop habits that help YOU succeed. (Hints: put your phone away. Have designated study space. Take brain breaks. Participate in study groups. Do a little at a time, not everything the night before.)
Get organized. Use a planner, an online calendar, reminders on your phone - find what works for you but make sure you are consistent.
ASK FOR HELP IF YOU NEED IT. We can't help if we don't know you're having a hard time!
Begin exploring careers and colleges (Naviance is a great tool for this!)
Be familiar with the high school graduation requirements.
Get involved - join a club, go to a school dance, participate in school spirit weeks, etc. Students who are involved in the school community are more successful.
Do something outside of school. This will be different for everyone! A job, a sport, volunteering - how are you spending productive time outside of school? Jobs and colleges will look at this!
