Research Your Opportunities
January 2024
1. 10th and 11th-grade students - Read through the course guide. Decide the programs you wish to complete!
2. 8th and 9th-grade students - Attend the Academic Opportunities evening program on January 30, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the CSD Auditorium. We will review College and Career Readiness, Seals, and provide you with the opportunity to talk with current students in our elective programs!
Step 2
Request Courses in PowerSchool
January 31 - February 6, 2024
Log into your CSD PowerSchool account to request your courses for next year.
View the written directions.
Math, English, and Science teachers will input recommendations.
Students will choose the request of their classes.
Step 3
IGP Conference - Appointment times will open on January 22, 2024.
February: current 11th grade students
March: current 10th grade students
February and March: current 9th grade and CVA students

Course request screens will remain open for one week and close on February 1 at 4 pm.

USC Union Dual Enrollment Webex
Monday, February 12, 2024 at 6 pm
Join us for this presentation about the differences in college credit options, the pros (and possible cons) of dual enrollment, and how to reduce tuition costs. The webex will be recorded and released the following day.

For students interested in graduating early (3rd year, Winter, or Summer)
CSD families have the opportunity to apply to Clover Virtual Academy for Fall 2024. At this time, thoughtfully request your courses using PowerSchool for your current campus. If you are accepted to CVA, you will have the opportunity to update course requests.
For current 10th-grade students who would like to start Middle College 2nd semester of 11th grade and continue into 12th grade.
USC DE classes have two applications
Paper application: Print, sign, and turn in to the Counseling Center by March 29, 2024.
USC Union online application: Directions will be emailed in late March.

April 9, 2024 from 6 pm - 8:30 pm
Location: CHS ATC Buildings B and C
Come join us! Students and families will be able to have a look inside the state-of-the-art classrooms, talk with teachers about career pathways and certifications, and hear a presentation regarding our partnership with York Technical College through our Middle College program and our EXCELS classes.
USC Union Application Night
April 17 at 6 pm in the CHS Cafeteria
Representatives from USC Union will be here to assist with your online USC application to enroll in dual enrollment courses next year. Students, bring your CHS device. More details will be sent via email.
