The Rotating Credit Club (RCC) format is simple: each time we meet, a few members of the Collaboratory present a major initiative or challenge they are working on; the rest of us then provide, not just feedback, but specific and firm commitments of help.
It’s adapted from a practice among immigrant entrepreneurs lacking easy access to credit: they all put capital into the pot, and take turns getting the entire pot. With the goal and purpose being that eventually it will be your turn to reap the benefits from the proverbial pot!
To submit an RCC to be considered for an upcoming National Civic Collaboratory convening, you will need to have attended at least one National Civic Collaboratory convening. Once you have met that criteria, you will be asked during the RSVP process your interest in submitting a project or initiative to present. Citizen University will then send you the RCC Proposal Form.
Please review the guidelines as it will help you to prepare a brief description of your project and hit all of the elements the team will need to make an assessment.
A few weeks prior to the National Civic Collaboratory meeting, the team will review the submissions and make a selection of 3 RCC proposals. Presenters will be furnished with all of the details they will need to put together their presentations. We often receive more proposals than we have space for, so if your submission is not selected, don’t lose heart. We encourage you to try again next meeting!
Projects and partnerships catalyzed by the Collaboratory have a wide range—see for yourself!
