We know that realizing the change our nation needs most will take the faith, energy, and wisdom of youngers and olders creating together.
This cogenerational engagement of the National Civic Collaboratory and the Youth Collaboratory invites us to practice working towards a shared future side by side.
The Youth Collaboratory brings together catalytic high school sophomores and juniors from across the country for six months of experiential learning focused on civic power. Through a blend of in-person experiences and meaningful virtual sessions, the students engage with the ideas and ideals of civic power. They learn how to harness it and plan how to circulate their knowledge by designing a Power Project to implement in their community.

“There’s this culture that members of the Youth Collaboratory are equal to the adults. We're all sharing projects that we're working on — and collaboratively and collectively, we can help solve each other's problems. It starts with feeling seen, heard, and valued.”
Verneé Green, Mikva Challenge
Youth Collaboratory members engage in Civic Collaboratory gatherings as full participants — offering commitments of resources, engaging in deep conversation, and building career-shaping relationships.
National Civic Collaboratory members learn from the strengths of their younger counterparts, showcase what civic careers can look like, and make connections to support Youth Collaboratory members' Power Projects.
Leaning into intergenerational learning takes intention and curiosity, and we each play a role in creating a shared space where people feel able to share their stories and contribute in authentic ways.
