" I would say it is a great experience, and that no matter what you are planning on doing after high school, it can teach you valuable skills. I have learned so much more over the two years I've taken it than I could imagine. " - Grace Coller
This class is the best part of my school day, it's the class where I can have fun but learn for my future as well. This class is important to me because I get to learn how to become an engineer which is what i want to be when i get out of college. Other people should take this class because it shows many different ways on how to solve problems, and work as a team. I learned how to work as a team in this class. My favorite memory in this class was the last days of school last year when everyone gathered together in your room to just hang out and finish products.
This class was a place to exercise my brain and learn about topics that I would otherwise have to watch boring videos or read super long and complicated books about. I feel that it helped my view of how the world works and exactly how things are powered or new developments and the debates that come along with them. This class meant a lot to many because it was a lot of fun and gaining the skills that many of us could need in the near future was very interesting and something I certainly do not regret. Teamwork was a huge aspect, and it made almost every project that much better when there was a team involved. Some of my favorite memories stemmed from this teamwork too. I remember when we were working on one of our projects, we became like one big group and a small circle of us became very close. This led us to some team dinners, and some funny inside jokes that spanned entire years.
If someone asked me why I took this class, I would have to say that it was interesting through and through. Even though it was a work in progress, and sometimes got a little messy, this class helped a lot with hobby development, learning about things that had interested me before, and even allowing me to expand my creative horizons past a simple pen and paper idea. I feel more confident thinking through ideas, because some of the knowledge I have gained from the class could be applied to other areas of thinking, especially in the realm of technology.
" I have learned so much about the design process and what steps to take when solving a problem. This course taught me the importance of documenting your problem solving, and how to think broadly to come up with the most effective solution. My favorite memory would probably be designing our phone caddies. " - Kevin Bockius
"I felt that your teaching style was very effective and helpful. The introduction into each unit communicated the necessary information while staying engaging. I especially liked that you did not hold our hands throughout the course and left us on our own with the necessary knowledge and resources, but you were still there to give feedback or resolve confusion if needed. I feel that it is beneficial to learn things on your own through trial and error rather than having someone else do everything for you and I believe your method of teaching reflected these principles .... Throughout the course of this year I feel that I have gained a considerable amount of knowledge of things within the field of engineering and I now have a deeper understanding of how and why many things that people use on a regular basis were created. My favorite memory is definitely when we visited Rowan University to learn about different engineering fields and participate in design challenges. " - Jame Asbury
" This class actually makes it fun to learn and do projects; it’s definitely the most enjoyable class I take. " - Olivia Pocius
