Skills
The AQA A Level is excellent preparation for university, employment and life. It helps to develop the in-depth subject knowledge and understanding which are so important to universities and employers. It enable learners to build on previous skills and knowledge and help develop the skills needed for effective communication. Learners gain essential tools and writing skills required for further study, as well as for the workplace.
Themes
There is great flexibility about what is covered and pupils’ preferences can be taken into account. As at iGCSE, reading, listening, speaking and writing are assessed through different themes, but the themes are far more sophisticated and the discussion is focused on these themes in German-speaking countries. embedded in the culture of German- speaking countries. We look at the following topics:

Youth culture: fashion, music & TV
Festivals and traditions
Art and architecture
Cultural life in Berlin, past and present

Upper Sixth students have the opportunity to develop their research skills through the Independent Research Project as they explore an area of personal interest within the course for their speaking assessment. Students also study a literary text and a film. Potential works include:
