just one of the many great ways to truly get to grips with subject at CHS. Many aspiring vets and medics take part.
You will have achieved a high 7, 8, or 9 grade in GCSE Biology or Dual Award Science.
You will ideally have a 7 or higher in GCSE Mathematics.
No. The grade is based entirely on the results of the 3 papers which you will sit at the end of Year 13.
This is what you will be awarded alongside your A Level grade if you reach the required level in each area of competency for the 12 Required Practicals. You will need to achieve Practical Skills Endorsement in order to get into a good number of universities.
Experience has shown us that Students who take Biology with Maths A Level tend to perform better than those who do not, as at least 10% of the marks in Biology require the use of mathematical skills.
If you do not intend to study maths at A level, we highly recommend taking Core Maths, as experience has shown us that this helps make the maths element of the course more accessible.
Students who take Biology alongside Chemistry also tend to perform better than those who do not.
Those students who take Biology without another Science or Maths have, in our experience, performed less well than their counterparts.
