Concurrent Enrollment Student (Chico High / Butte College)
A Chico High School student participating in concurrent enrollment is enrolled in college-level courses at Butte College (or any California Community College) while still attending high school. Through this program, students earn both high school and college credit simultaneously, allowing them to get a head start on their college education. Concurrently enrolled students are expected to demonstrate strong time management, responsibility, and academic readiness as they balance high school requirements with the increased rigor and independence of college coursework. Frequently Asked Questions:
Where Concurrent Enrollment Classes Are Held?
Butte College Campus (Main Campus in Oroville) - Many concurrent enrollment students take their college courses directly on the Butte College campus in Oroville. This is the primary location where college-level classes are offered, and high school students attend alongside regular college students.
Online Classes - Butte College also offers online courses that students can take as part of the concurrent enrollment program. These are taken remotely and can be a flexible option for high school students.
Other Butte College Centers (if available) - While not typical for most Chico High students, Butte College also has other centers (e.g., Chico Center or Glenn County Center). Concurrent enrollment courses can occasionally be scheduled at these centers depending on course offerings and availability—but the main campus and online are the standard locations.
