AVID Curriculum
At Chico High School, our AVID curriculum is built on proven academic standards, designed to make college preparatory courses accessible and achievable for every student.
The AVID Elective is designed for students in the academic middle — those who have the drive to attend college and the determination to rise to the challenge. Many of our AVID students will be the first in their families to earn a college degree, and the program is especially committed to supporting students from underrepresented and low-income backgrounds. AVID Elective students are encouraged and supported to take their school's most rigorous courses, including Honors and Advanced Placement classes, setting them on a clear path toward higher education and lifelong success.
At Chico High, AVID is more than a class — it's a commitment to opening doors and making college a reality for students who are ready to work for it.
