Program Rules & Eligibility
This program is available to anyone employed at Chick-fil-A The Shoppes at Bartlett and Austin Peay Highway and considered in "good standing." Failure to maintain "good standing" in your employment will restrict you from qualifying for this benefit. You may continue your education with Point but will have to pay the per credit hour fees to continue to take classes. You may re-qualify for the Gold Path Scholarship program the next 8 week term.
The goal of this program is to allow you to further your education with little to no financial obligation. Allen belives that earning a debt free education has a significant financial impact on your future wealth building opportunities in life. Becuase this program and benefit is such a great opportunity to accelerate your future, it comes with requirements that have to be met.
The requirements below are meant to be very clear, not impose an undue burden on the team member to maintain eligibility or on the leadership team who has to track these things.
**The Operator retains the right to adjust or amend these requirements at any time and also use his discretion and judgement in each unique circumstance to determine if eligibility requirements are met and the team member remains in good standing.**
Your requirements for the program:
Remain in "good standing" at Chick-fil-A The Shoppes at Bartlett or Austin Peay Highway
Apply for the FAFSA (counselors are available to assist you)
If you are unable to complete a FAFSA, they must use the FAFSA4caster tool on the FAFSA website to verify that they are not eligible to receive the Federal Pell Grant. They must print the calculation page showing that they are not Pell eligible and send to Financial Aid at financial.aid@point.edu.
Apply for the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Scholarship each year you are enrolled.
Abide by all rules and eligibility requirements as set for by Point University and qualify for enrollment with Point
Pay for any books required for your degree.
Good standing is defined as:
Work an average of 20 hours/week per month. Hours are reduced to 15 hours/week per month for high school or homeschool students.
No more than 10% unexcused absences per month for your scheduled shifts, in accordance with store handbook policies. Released shifts that are picked up do not apply to this requirement.
If you work 3 shifts per week that's 12 shifts per month. You could have 1 unexcused absences and maintain your eligibility. If you have 2 unexcused absences then you would lose your eligibility for the next 8 week term.
Receive no more than 2 disciplinary counselings per month for any reason
As you can see, if you show up to your scheduled shifts and follow store policies, you will maintain your eligibility and have nothing to worry out. Now go out there and further your education!!!!
How to Enroll
Before you begin the Admission process, you will need to sign the Team Member Agreement form with Point University. This form will be sent to you electronically via DocuSign after you submit a request here (password “GOLD”).
The Team Member Agreement will then be sent to me for me to sign. This is where I evaluate the "good standing" requirement I have in place to enroll.
For the start of this program, I will allow everyone to enroll who wants to enroll and start the evaluation of "good standing" during the first 8 weeks of your enrollment. What this means is you can work to meet the good standing definition below during your first term of enrollment, even if you don't qualify right now, but if you fail to uphold the good standing criteria, you will not be allowed to participate in the Gold Path Scholarship for the next 8 weeks and you will have to take the term off or cover the tuition cost yourself.
Once you complete the Team Member Agreement and I sign my part, the rest is between you and Point University. They are your point of contact for everything. This is "real college" and not something I am involved in beyond the initial authorization.
After your agreement form has been received, you can start on the steps below:
The application is your first step. You can click here to complete it. This should only take 5-10 minutes. Be sure to use the promo code CFASUB on the application.
Once you complete this, an enrollment specialist will reach out to you: be sure to check your email (even clutter/junk boxes) and answer phone calls because they will want to help you with next steps!
If you want to connect directly to an enrollment specialist:
Call 844-671-5839
Email getstarted@point.edu
Next, Point University will help you collect all your transcripts.
Simply complete the Transcript Request Form. Fill out the form with all the required information and please list all schools you have attended (including your high school or GED equivalency). This includes any schools that you’ve attended, regardless of whether you received credit. This form will, in most cases, allows Point to request your transcripts at no cost to you. Your enrollment specialist will help here so feel free to connect with them first! (If your previous institution does not allow Point to request transcript on your behalf, Point will provide instructions on how to submit your transcripts directly.)
Point University is obliged to run a report through the National Student Loan Data System for every applicant, according to federal guidelines. You must submit transcripts or other necessary admission documents for all institutions listed on this report in your name. Point will advise you of the contents of this report and aid you as far as possible in gathering these documents.
All team members are required to fill out a FAFSA.
The school code for Point University is 001547.
The FAFSA can take up to 14 days to process so start this early if you want to enroll this summer
It is generally best to complete a FAFSA for the specific school year you plan to start. If you plan to start in August/Fall of 2022, you need to complete the 2022-23 FAFSA. If you are a summer start, you will generally use the prior year FAFSA – May/June/July of 2022 would be the 2021-22 FAFSA. Once you complete the FAFSA, please forward your enrollment specialist the confirmation email so they can have it on file. If you aren’t sure which FAFSA to complete, do not hesitate to ask before starting by reaching out to financial.aid@point.edu.
Please note that the FAFSA is a requirement for all team members who wish to receive the tuition benefits. Additionally, all team members will need to complete the Remarkable Futures scholarship application when it becomes available.
Once you are enrolled and registered for classes, you can use this link to order textbooks for online classes (however feel free to ask if your text book is available on Amazon or through other sources where it may be more affordable!): https://www.bkstr.com/pointuniversitystore/shop/textbooks-and-course-materials.
