We work closely with Imago to identify our young carers. We then provide additional opportunities for these pupils such as our very successful young carers forest school sessions.
If you believe your child could be identified as a young carer please email the office who will pass it on to Miss Ferris or Mrs Payne
Our SEN team run a weekly enrichment club for some identified pupils. The purpose of this is to provide pupils with the opportunities to further develop social skills so they can interact more freely with their peers.
Inclusive practice is embedded in all that we do at Cherry Orchard. We recognise that inclusive practice is part of quality first teaching and will benefit all pupils. Our teaching staff are confident in using adaptive teaching and inclusive practices within the classroom to ensure all children make at least expected progress.
Our children provide us with regular feedback about our inclusive practice. This helps us to tailor our provision to be specific for our children. Some examples of pupil voice in action is finding out which festivals are celebrated by our school community so that we can tailor our assemblies around these to educate our children about different cultures and beliefs that are relevant to our community.
Our behaviour curriculum is embedded in our day to day practice. Through this we teach our children about how to behave and be respectful of others. Our students demonstrate the IB Learner Profile Attribute of being principled and our assemblies aid teaching about mutual respect and tolerance.
