These are the following skills and concepts students will be focusing on:

    - Blending and reading three-sound short vowel words
    - Segmenting and spelling three-sound short vowel words
    - The procedures on how to spell sentences and words
    - Using symbols when writing

Letter-Keyword-Sounds Cards

Students practice the letter-keyword-sound cards.

Remember many of these words do NOT follow spelling rules and so cannot follow our spelling words procedure. The trick words are:

Sentences

Remember to continue to practice the spelling word procedure when spelling these words. Students should first complete the procedure and then add symbols.

In this unit we introduce two concepts. The first concept is learning the procedure for spelling sentences and the use of symbols.
