Principal's Message:
March 22, 2026
Good afternoon, Families!
Attendance Challenge
As part of our goal to increase attendance, the grade level with 100% attendance this week will earn a popsicle celebration. We understand if your child is out due to sickness. When your child returns to school, please send a note to the front office. Also, Friday, March 27, is an early release day at 11:30 AM and a school store day for our elementary students. Thank you for your support!
Kindergarten Registration
It is time to register for kindergarten! If you have a child or know of a child, who will be 5 on or before August 31, 2026, please read about the registration process here:
Families who have a student currently enrolled in Chatham County schools and wish to register a student for Kindergarten in the 2026-2027 school year, please use the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to register the new student. From the home screen on the Parent Portal, under the heading "Shortcuts" select Student Registration/Annual Review or select the "More" tab from the main menu, then select Student Registration/Annual Review. Follow the prompts to register your new student. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please create one by following the directions on this webpage.
If you have a student enrolled in Chatham County Schools Pre-K program, you do not need to complete a registration for Kindergarten. Families who do not currently have any children enrolled in Chatham County Schools, visit the Chatham County Schools website and use the “New Student Enrollment” link to find directions for completing a registration for the 2026-2027 school year. (See below for a 2025-2026 school year registration.) Registrations must be completed in the appropriate school year for your student.
All new student registration for kindergarten is completed online. You are able to register using a home computer, your telephone, or by visiting your neighborhood school to use a computer available in the main office. Please reach out to your school’s data manager if you have any questions.
Rising kindergarten families can learn more about kindergarten at our orientation for rising kindergarten families orientation held at each school. We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2039!
Retesting Letter
Beginning this school year, students who score Not Proficient on any or all of the End-of-Grade (EOG) Reading assessments will automatically be scheduled for a retest opportunity. This “second chance” is designed to give students another opportunity to demonstrate their learning and show growth after reflecting on their initial performance.
We believe this retesting opportunity provides a valuable second look, which allows students to build confidence, reinforce their understanding, and more accurately showcase what they know and can do.
If you prefer for your child not to participate in this retesting opportunity, please use the following link: Testing Letters to opt out. Paper copies are also located in the main office for your convenience. This opt-out letter is due April 10th to their homeroom teachers.
