Confidence. Collaboration. Perseverance. Creativity. Focus. Dedication. And so much more. The Arts are an integral part of life; they enrich our lives, enhance school & community spirit, and are a necessary component of a complete education. They help us to understand and be positive contributors to the world we live in.
K-5:
The music teacher will post a “question” on Google Classroom (similar to a discussion board) every week where students can post questions they have about the week’s assignment. The music teacher will review this daily and respond to all questions within 24 hours during the week. This “question” post is only there in the event the student has a question and is not a required assignment
6-12:
Teachers will stay in contact with individual students regarding their performance and questions. Teachers can contact students via email as well as utilizing FlipGrid or their building’s learning management system (Google Classroom 6-8 and Schoology 9-12). Teachers should schedule individual Google Meets to better assess students’ understanding during the flex time built into the day, as needed.
K-5:
Students should participate in class following the building’s fully virtual schedule for live instruction. During asynchronous weeks, students should spend the time dedicated to music to work on the provided music assignment and lesson. Students should only spend the allotted class time working on the music assignment. If a student has a question or needs individualized instruction or assistance, s/he should connect with the music teacher for “office hours” during the dedicated music time.
6-12:
Students should participate in class following the building’s fully virtual schedule for live instruction. We want all students to participate in Google Meet sessions with cameras on unless they have extraordinary circumstances that limit their opportunity to do so.
