The English Language Arts program teaches students how to become readers, writers, speakers and listeners. Our intention is to provide students the skills they need to understand and create both fiction and non-fiction texts. Students will read and write in both digital and paper to provide them a well rounded experience of all types of texts.
K-5:
Most of the individual communication will occur on FlipGrid and Google Classroom via private comments. As needed, teachers will schedule individual conferences on Google Meets to provide students more immediate feedback on their reading.
6-8:
Students will utilize FlipGrid or Google Classroom. Teachers will schedule individual Google Meets to better assess students’ understanding of assigned texts as well as to provide students feedback on their writing.
9-12:
Students will utilize FlipGrid or Schoology. Teachers will schedule individual Google Meets to better assess students’ understanding of assigned texts as well as to provide students feedback on their writing.

Teachers will use Google Classroom to provide students all the videos and materials they need for each day’s lesson.
Teachers will use Google Meet to work with students individually and in small groups.
Students will also post their reflections or share their work on FlipGrid.
