I chose this image from google because tennis is my favorite sport to play so I wanted to represent it on my keychain,
After I chose my image I had to trace it in bitmap. I went to the bit map option in inkscape and I removed the background. After that, I chose the brightness cut off option. That made the color go away to im just left with the tracing.
After I made my traced my design, I had to make a bitmap out of the actual keychain. I chose the brightness cutoff option and adjusted the level to get only the keychain outline. I also adjusted the size of it to match the cardboard keychain, which is 4.3in by 2.1in.
After I made the outline, I placed my logo design ontop of my keychain. I also included a box that I wil remove when I print in order to get my key chain in the correct postion.
I then saved and transfered my desgin to correl draw to get it ready for laser cutting. I removed the double lines that were hidden in the design and I also removed the whole that were not needed. Me and my classmate put both of our designs on the same document in order to make the proccess faster.
This is the cardboard laser cutting video. We both rastered and vectored for this cutting. We did that by making the outline of the keychain hairline and the logo .5.
This is the final result of my cardboard laser cutting.
I used the cardboard cutting to place my leather keychain inside so I ca raster it my design on it.
This is the result of my rastering.
