Physical Plant and Custodial Services
Keeping you safe and happy
At Champlain College, we take pride in our facilities and work tirelessly to ensure they are clean, disinfected and safe. All custodial services of the academic buildings is completed by Janitech, a contracted service. They work day and night to make sure everything is as it should be. This contract is managed by Nic Anderson, Champlain's Director of Auxiliary Services.

Hand Sanitizer dispensers are located just inside the entry door of every building on Campus as well as other key locations.
Your office (if you have one) is vacuumed twice per week and all trash and recycling is centralized; please use the bins
All paper towels in restrooms are composted, so please make sure to use the compost bins
Please do not put trash in compost bins, including "compostable" paper and plastic eating utensils (Chittenden County currently cannot compost those materials)
Quick review of trash, recycling, and compost:
food scraps, unbleached paper towels and napkins, coffee grounds, etc go in the compost
metal cans, plastic and glass bottles, plastic containers (e.g. yogurt tubs), printer paper, junk mail, and non-greasy cardboard go in the recycling
sharps (e.g., medical needles) go in sharps disposal containers only; reach out to facilities with questions about where these are located
everything else--including used masks regardless of material, used paper/plastic coffee cups, "commercially compostable" eating ware, plastic wrappers and bags, hygiene products, and anything that does not fit into the categories above--goes in the trash
Making a Facilities Request
Leak? Fallen tree branch? Clogged toilet? Stuck window? Something else that needs addressing? Submit a "Physical Plant Request (School Dude)" from the Faculty Web Portal, or use this SchoolDude link. You will be required to log in with your Champlain account. See below for a screenshot of the "School Dude" online maintenance request form.
Meet Nic Anderson
Nic is the Director of Auxiliary Services (among other things) and oversees the Janitech contract and physical plant. If you want to know more about all sorts of fun Janitech-contract-style stuff, contact him at nanderson@champlain.edu
Meet Kate Cronin
Kate is the Assistant Director of Operations for Auxiliary Services. She handles the day-to-day and is a great person to reach out to with a custodial or maintenance concern (after having done a Physical Plant Support Request first!). Contact her at kcronin@champlain.edu
