This course introduces students to basic skills & safety in arc welding, MIG welding, oxyacetylene welding, brazing, & cutting. General shop & proper usage of power & hand tools are covered.
These courses allow student to continue with Linn-Benton Community College's curriculum to attain college credit. Advanced welding skills in arc, MIG, oxyacetylene, TIG welding, & plasma cutting are taught. Students also learn basic metallurgy & welding symbols & how to produce project plans & a bill of materials. Students may earn college credit.
Students design & construct projects of their choice, with instructor approval. Student must pay for all materials used in the construction of their project. Students may earn money & awards through supervised experiences outside of class & from FFA membership. Students may earn college credit.
This course introduces the beginning skills of construction, including cost analysis, measuring, group planning, & the safe use of hand tools & power equipment. Students will have three required projects for the semester with the option of substituting their own that comprises similar methods.
This course emphasizes more of a freeform sculpting focus. Students will be required to complete three projects throughout the class and be self-motivated.

Students will learn about the diverse, valuable agricultural community we live in & how FFA opportunities can impact their lives and the lives of others. Students will also be prepared for other agriculture courses through the introduction of plant & animal industries.
Students take a deeper look into the natural phenomenon that allows plants to grow & soil to generate life. Students will learn the structure & physiology of plants & discover how soil is the base of all life on earth. This course also takes a look at how humans, animals, & other living creatures depend on plants for survival or personal benefit.
Students will experience the inner workings of planning, maintaining, & producing a real horticultural crop in the school greenhouse. There will be hands on labs on all elements of plant care & management, from preparing plant materials to selling plants in the annual plant sale.
Students will experience & manage the working school greenhouse through all phases of production: ordering & planning plant orders, inventory, planting schedule, integrated pest management, plant maintenance, greenhouse maintenance, & managing a greenhouse work crew.
A project-based course related to the management & operations of the FFA chapter & community agricultural activities/service projects. Students are responsible for: maintaining chapter records, creation & maintaining the chapter Program of Activities, budgeting & money management, development of chapter leadership opportunities & workshops, member recruitment & retention, planning & coordination of major FFA activities, & other FFA activities. Heavy emphasis will be placed on building & maintaining relationships between CHS, FFA, and our community.

A real world look into the modern production and management of major livestock species. This course introduces students to how producers raise and manage a herd of livestock to their best potential. Students will learn breed identification, animal parts and functions, genetics, diseases, nutrition, meat science, reproduction, management tools, and handling techniques.
Students are exposed to the many elements of being a veterinarian, starting with physiology of animals & how diet, exercise, & environment plays a role in animal health. Students will learn how to take care of a variety of species & perform routine veterinary procedures, such as how to give an animal a vaccination & how to handle large/small animals during care.
