Happy March, CHS Families.
We made it to March without a single snow day. Every student in the building is hoping that just jinxed it. Spring Break is only 13 school days away. Our students and staff are ready for a break and to come back recharged for a strong finish to the year.
Bravo to the CHS cast, crew, and staff for the incredible presentation of Anything Goes! The combination of acting, ability to deliver key lines, difficult dancing, amazing set, and brilliant music made for an amazing show . We continue to set the bar for the Arts in southwest Wisconsin!
ACT Day is here. Freshman have a full day. Sophomores have great college visit opportunities. Seniors have a day off. And our juniors are ready. Please remind your son or daughter that this day doesn't decide a future. That is completely up to them.
One of the great community events that our school hosts is Art in the Burg on Saturday the 14th. There is something for everyone as local artists, vendors. and our students display beautiful and unique items for purchase.
We're looking forward to the next month and hopefully some warmer weather. Spring starts March 19th!
Go Bulldogs!

School Counselors continue to meet with juniors and their parents/guardians for a scheduled post-secondary conference in March and early April. You will receive an email with a specific date and time for the conference and it will be scheduled during your student’s study hall. Please contact Sherry Bublitz, counseling administrative assistant at 376-6230 if you have a conflict with the pre-scheduled conference time. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend their student's junior conference since many important post-secondary topics will be discussed.
Students interested in playing collegiate athletics at the Division I or II level are encouraged to create a NCAA student account which can be found on the NCAA Eligibility Center website. For a student's NCAA academic certification to be processed, students must have their ACT scores submitted to the NCAA Eligibility Center directly from the testing agency using the code 9999. Please refer to the Division I Quick Reference Sheet or the Division II Quick Reference Sheet to understand the core-course grade point average needed to meet your ACT sum score required for athletic eligibility.

Next PTO meeting in March 9th. All are welcome!
We just completed two opportunities for our students to learn about careers from members of our community. On February 28, CG Schmidt hosted a Career Day for our sophomores. On March 3, during the afternoon after testing, we invited career speakers to talk with our freshmen. Students were able to hear from two speakers at both events. Both events were well received by both students and presenters.
Sophomores also had the opportunity to visit a college campus to start developing thoughts on what's important to them in a post-secondary experience.
All of these experiences are intended to help students learn about what is available to them beyond high school as they make decisions about their future.
SAVE THE DATE! Another great opportunity students will have to engage with community members regarding careers will be during the Ozaukee County Career Fair on April 22, 2020 at Concordia University. More details will be coming soon through Skyward Messenger.
Contact Mrs. Geiser or Mrs. Myczek in the College and Career Center with any questions.

April 13th through the 17th all Freshmen and Sophomores will be taking the WI Aspire Exam during an extended resource period. In addition, on April 3rd all Sophomores will complete the WI Forward Social Studies exam. During these dates we will complete testing during an extended resource period. Please note that testing will also take place on Thursday the 16th beginning at 7:28 when we would typically have late start.
Forward and Aspire tests are online assessments so all freshmen and sophomores are reminded to bring their charged Chromebook to testing. In addition, cell phones and backpacks should be left behind in student lockers as they cannot be accessed during testing.
Finally, due to the number of teachers who will be proctoring and in order to insure an appropriate testing environment on these days, resource will be optional for Juniors and Seniors. However, juniors and seniors are still welcome to attend resource options provided by teachers who are not proctoring or attend study hall in the cafeteria during this time.
Between March 9th and March 20th, the Cedarburg School District will be deploying a satisfaction survey to all school staff, parents and students assessing a variety of school related areas. The survey will assist in strengthening school and district programs, climate, culture, while guiding us on priorities for future planning. We are working with an independent educational research firm, School Perceptions, to conduct the confidential survey administration and assist with results analysis. Watch for more information to be shared this week.
