在迎王祭典前約1個月，會在溫王爺的鑑禮下，在東隆宮設壇循古禮、呈上疏文，邀請代天巡狩千歲爺於迎王期間蒞臨東港鎮賜福，祈求風調雨順、國泰民安、迎王祭典順遂、東港興隆、闔家平安；而且進表儀式的到來，也就是代表迎王祭典已經進入倒數計時的關鍵時刻。
