Still Life

Create a still life that engages your viewer and conveys an experience, emotion or idea based on the objects selected.

Parameters

• Create an engaging composition.

  • Arrange objects at different distance from viewer.

  • Overlapping edges.

  •  Select background to compliment your arrangement.

• Use contrasting colors or values in shadows to create depth.

• Must be at least 8" x 10".

Steps

• Ideas: Brainstorm ideas, find source images and make rough sketches of what it might look like.

• Create:  Make your work based on feedback from your ideas.

• Title: Come up with a title that contributes to the communication of your idea and make a label (Title/Label Page).

• Artist Statement: Write an Artists Statement that adds information about your process or describes experiences that inform your work (Artist Statement Page).

• Reflect: Describe your learning.
