Flower Watercolor

Create three watercolor sketches of a flower from the photos provided.

Instructions:

• Lightly sketch the outline of flower with graphite pencil.

• Paint the background first, leaving the flower shape identified by the negative space and white paper.

• Paint the flower using contrasting colors for your shadows.

Parameters:

• Colors should be mixed, not used out of the pat.

• Edges should be defined by contrast and not lines.

• Use a color "drop" into a wash to create a blended background.
