Biography

Tracy Hill earned her Bachelor of Science Criminal Justice from American Intercontinental University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  She has worked for Cumberland County Schools for 25 years, 16 years as Bookkeeper/Salary Analyst, 8 as a Teacher, and 1 year as a Principal Resident. Tracy has been recognized each year with certificates of achievement for students’ proficiency reaching above 95%.   She has been a Teachers’ At Work Program recipient, 2017, DBHS Teacher of the year for 2017 and 2020, as well as National Academy Foundation (NAF) World Teacher Day Recognition recipient, 2018.  Her most recent award was being announced as the 2nd Runner Up for Cumberland County Teacher of the Year.  She has served as a teacher mentor, is a former Guardian ad Litem with Cumberland County Court System, and volunteers as a youth mentor.  Tracy has previously served as the Director of the Academy of Finance at Douglas Byrd High School in Cumberland County. She is currently a principal resident at Lake Rim Elementary School while completing her MSA at North Carolina State University. Tracy is a heartfelt leader who is determined to display love, confidence and trust in everyone to create an inclusive learning environment where teachers desire to teach and students yearn to learn.

Coming from humble beginnings, Tracy's grandmother was a major influence in her life. She instilled in Tracy the importance of a heart of servant. The passion of serving others followed Tracy throughout her life as she strived to be of service to those she came in contact with. This mindset led Tracy to becoming a ordained minister, where she continuously serves her community in various facets of her ministry.
