’25–’26 Remote LIVE Learning Contract
As a remote learner at Rebound, I commit to maintaining a focused, respectful, and productive virtual learning environment. By following the expectations outlined below—and as detailed in the Rebound Student Handbook—I will contribute to a positive, engaged, and successful remote learning experience.
1. Attendance & Testing
I will actively participate in all virtual classes, discussions, and activities as required by my teachers. Attendance will be recorded in accordance with the Attendance Policy in the Rebound Student Handbook.
If I fail to have my camera on and microphone available during class, I may be marked absent.
I understand that I am required to complete all TABE testing as outlined in the handbook:
A pre-test before beginning classes.
A post-test after 10–15 days of attendance, or as scheduled by staff.
All testing must be completed in person at Rebound on the dates and times assigned by staff.
2. Technology Requirements
I am responsible for having access to a computer or tablet with reliable internet connectivity. I will have a backup plan in case I encounter challenges or technical difficulties. Device or Wi-Fi issues are not an excuse for missing class.
3. Cameras & Microphones
I will keep my camera turned on and my microphone available at all times during virtual classes to promote interaction and effective communication with teachers and classmates.
4. Learning Environment
I will attend online classes from a quiet, distraction-free location that supports focus and active participation.
5. Technical Issues
If I experience technical problems during class, I will promptly inform my teacher and make every effort to resolve the issue or seek assistance.
6. Communication
I will check my email and Google Classroom/Edmentum regularly for updates, announcements, and important information from teachers and school administrators.
7. Final Exams
I will take final exams and the Constitution Test (if applicable) in person on scheduled dates. If I have three (3) or fewer absences in a class, a passing grade, and have completed registration on designated days, I will be exempt from taking the final exam for that class.
8. Accountability
If I am not meeting expectations or am unsuccessful in the remote learning environment, I understand that I may be required to attend classes in person.
By signing below, I acknowledge my commitment to these expectations and understand that violations will be addressed in accordance with the Rebound Student Handbook, which may include loss of privileges or dismissal from the program.

The Rebound program is built on the belief that regular attendance is essential to student success. Students who attend consistently benefit from instructional time, class discussions, and peer interaction. Maintaining strong attendance requires the cooperation of the student, parent(s)/guardian(s), and school personnel.
Teacher attendance records serve as the official documentation of student absences for each class.
General Attendance Guidelines
Teachers will take attendance daily.
Students are responsible for signing the paper attendance sheet in each class every day.
Teachers will also monitor access to remote platforms and the completion of assignments.
Attendance is tracked per class, not per school day.
Remote Attendance Requirements
Remote students are held to the same attendance and participation expectations as in-person students.
Students attending remotely must:
Have both their microphone and camera turned on to be marked present.
Be actively engaged and participating in the session.
Absence Limits
Full-Term Classes:
A maximum of six (6) absences is allowed per class.
On the seventh (7th) absence, the student will be dismissed from that class.
Missing three (3) consecutive days in the same class will also result in dismissal.
Mid-Term Classes (3-hour block):
A maximum of three (3) absences is allowed.
Missing two (2) consecutive days in the same class will result in dismissal.
Definition of an Absence
A student is considered absent if they:
Do not attend class,
Arrive late,
Leave early, or
Sleep during class.
Rebound does not recognize any absences as “excused.”
However, documentation may be requested to support absences.
Tardy Policy
Three (3) tardies will be counted as one (1) absence.
Missing fewer than 15 minutes of class is considered tardy.
Missing 15 minutes or more is considered an absence.
Excessive tardiness will be addressed on an individual basis and may lead to dismissal from the class or the program.
Building Access Note:
Building doors will lock at 8:45 AM and 12:30 PM. Students arriving after these times must be buzzed in, and this will be used to document tardiness.
Final Exam Exemption Policy
Rebound students have the opportunity to be exempt from final exams if they meet the following criteria:
Full-Term Classes
Students may be exempt from the final exam if they:
Have three (3) or fewer absences
Complete registration during the designated registration days
Maintain a grade of 60% or higher in the class
Mid-Term Classes
Students may be exempt from the final exam if they:
Have one (1) or fewer absences
Complete registration during the designated registration days
Maintain a grade of 60% or higher in the class
