Independent Study

Welcome to our independent study program! We're thrilled to have you on board for this personalized learning experience. To ensure a successful and enjoyable time, let's agree on some simple rules. Don't worry; they're not too strict—just enough to keep things organized and running smoothly. Let's get started:

Entrance Requirements: I will score at an 8th grade level on reading (and math if applicable) TABE assessment to be admitted into independent study.
Intensity: I will complete at least TWO (2) classes per term. I will be assigned ONE (1) class at a time to allow for complete focus.
Commitment to Learning: I agree to take responsibility for my learning journey and commit to making progress in the assigned coursework. Remember, this is about your growth and development!
Weekly Schedule: I’ll create a weekly study schedule, breaking down tasks and setting goals. Stick to it as much as possible, but don't stress over minor adjustments. Flexibility is key!
Communication: The communication lines are open! If I have any questions, need help, or want to discuss my progress, I will reach out to my teacher. We're here to support you.
Attendance and Progress Tracking: Even though this is independent study, I will have occasional check-ins to monitor my progress. I’ll participate in progress meetings and submit work regularly.
Academic Integrity: Honesty is the best policy! I’ll adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism and cheating will result in the failure of my class.
Tech Requirements: I am responsible for having access to a computer or tablet with reliable internet connectivity. If I encounter any challenges or face technical difficulties, I will let my teacher know immediately.
Final Exams: I will take final exams and Constitution tests (if applicable) in person on the scheduled dates.
Accountability: If I am not successful in the independent study program, I will be required to attend in person.
