Rebound ’25–’26 Independent Study Contract

As an Independent Study learner at Rebound, I commit to taking responsibility for my learning and meeting the expectations outlined below—and as detailed in the Rebound Student Handbook. This program is designed for motivated students who can work independently while meeting Rebound’s academic and attendance requirements.

1. Entrance Requirements
I must score at or above a 6th grade reading level (and math, if applicable) on the TABE assessment to be eligible for Independent Study. At the discretion of administration, students who do not meet this requirement may be approved for Independent Study based on individual circumstances.

2. TABE Testing
I am required to complete all TABE testing as outlined in the Rebound Student Handbook:

• A pre-test before beginning classes.

• A post-test after 10–15 days of attendance, or as scheduled by staff.
  All testing must be completed in person at Rebound on the dates and times assigned by staff.

3. Coursework & Intensity
I will complete at least two (2) classes per term. I will be assigned one (1) class at a time to maintain focus.

4. Commitment to Learning
I will take responsibility for my own learning, complete assignments on time, and make steady progress in coursework.

5. Weekly Schedule & Check-ins
I will create a weekly study plan and participate in scheduled progress meetings. I will submit work regularly and on time.

6. Communication
I will maintain regular communication with my teacher and request help if I encounter academic or technical challenges.

7. Academic Integrity
I will adhere to the highest standards of academic honesty. Plagiarism, cheating, or misuse of AI tools will result in failure of the class and possible further consequences.

8. Technology Requirements
I will maintain access to a computer or tablet with reliable internet connectivity. If I encounter technical difficulties, I will notify my teacher immediately.

9. Final Exams
I will take final exams and the Constitution Test (if applicable) in person on the scheduled dates. Passing the final exam is required to pass the course.

10. Accountability
If I am not successful in Independent Study, I understand I may be required to return to in-person learning.
