Family Mentor Program

Because the schools are structured differently and function under different policies and guidelines, programming cannot always be shared easily between Oakstone Academy and Oakstone Community School. This page is designed especially for those families who have children attending OCS. Here you will find opportunities to serve, activities to take part in, and ways to connect within the OCS and the Oakstone community as a whole. PALS strives to serve the needs of both Oakstone Academy and Oakstone Community School and we are always open to feedback and suggestions on how we can do this better.

Service Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to be involved in your child's education, build relationships with the staff, make connection with other families, and make a positive contribution to the community. There are many ways to get involved, and we are always on the lookout for new ways to meet the needs of our school, its staff, and students.

Become a PALS Member

PALS is looking for parents and staff members with ideas, passion, motivations, and a desire to build connection within the Oakstone Community. Please consider applying - with new members come fresh perspectives that help us bring new opportunities to OA and OCS!

Become a Mentor

We are always on the hunt for families that are willing to share their experiences with others. There is nothing more valuable to a new family (or a family facing new and uncharted territory) than a friend with first hand experience! If you are interested in becoming a mentor, or would like a mentor, please contact rgrady@ccde.org.

Special Requests and Needs

When staff or student groups need to raise funds or there is an activity or event that needs a special group of volunteers, we share those with our families to help fill the need. These opportunities - including donations and time, all count toward volunteer hours.

Wish Lists - The OCS Wish List currently has many items - and they can all be purchased right off the list and shipped directly to the school!

Engagement

We are not all work and no play! Our events are not only great opportunities to volunteer, but they are also fun to attend. Check out our offerings and sign up using the links. Events will be posted here, on the Oakstone Parents Facebook page, and will be included in the weekly newsletter. Check back frequently because new events are always popping up!

Engagement, Volunteer, and Donation Event - Trunk or Treat

Don't miss out on the biggest event of the year! Trunk or Treat is always a hit at Oakstone. This year it will take place on Friday, October 24 from 6-8 PM. There will be a fabulous haunted house, costume contest, trick-or-treating, and plenty of good food to eat. Bring cash for concessions! Sign up to attend, contribute, or volunteer!
