Dear Parents,
We will begin letter handwriting this week for their homework assignment. They will have a front and back side of a handwriting worksheet that will focus on one letter per night (capital and lowercase). Sight words will be added to their homework agenda towards the end of the month. In order to continue getting them in the routine of reading the "Rapid Reading Charts" that will eventually reinforce sight words, we will send home another "letter" chart to help them practice letter identification and their sounds. Please continue practicing any letters and/or their sounds that give them trouble. These charts can stay in the return side of their folder, or be returned on Friday morning. Please, however return their completed letter writing pages every day. They will need your assistance this week, making sure the letters are written properly and touching the lines just like the letters they trace on the top lines of the worksheet.
Don’t forget to check your child’s folder EVERY night, empty the “Leave at home pocket” if there is anything in it, and initial their conduct sheets! Thank you so much for all your help!

We will enjoy learning about and celebrating Our Mother, Mary's birthday on Tuesday, September 8th, which is the feast of The Nativity. The students may wear light blue bows and/or socks as part of this celebration!

If your child is familiar enough with their bus number and information (the stop, the driver's name, etc) the bus tag can be returned and they will no longer need to bring them back and forth. Your name and phone number are written on the tags that are fastened to their book sacks. Please work with them learning your cell numbers in case of emergencies and if the tag would be torn off.

We will go to the Pumpkin Patch on October 26th from 9:30-11:30.
Students will be able to wear Halloween themed shirts with uniform bottoms.

We have had several students that have forgotten last week and we are running low on our "extras."
Beginning this week we will send an "OOPS" card each time a snack is supplied.
If you receive this bright green reminder, please kindly send 2 snacks the following day with your child. One to replace what we gave them, and one for their snack that day!

Tuesday, November 3rd and Wednesday, November 4th.
Your child will stay home on one of these days.
