We are looking forward to our field trip to the zoo this Monday! Please send your child to school in regular uniform attire!
The last few sight words will be sent home this week, but since it will be a short week of classroom instruction due to the field trip and reading assessments, we will not test the students on the new words until next week. I sent them home early for those that may want to review them before the reading assessment. Reviewing all the words before Tuesday/Wednesday would be a great idea for anyone at or below a reading level of "D."
Please remember to continue practicing the "End of Year" prayer that will be recited in the Prayer Service and the "All God's Critters" song they will be singing as a class. These came home in their folders before the break. They will practice the songs in music class also, but please have them recite the "End of the Year" prayer as part of their nightly homework! Also, if your child has a reading part, they have already received it and should be practicing saying it slowly and clearly every night! Thank you!

We sent home log-in information for your child to be able to access websites we are using at school that can help them with their reading and Math skills. Books on-line can be found on the website Epic, which is saved in your child's Clever app, or Raz Plus website which can be accessed on-line. The public library also has leveled books you can choose from and/or any books you may have at home are great to use. We work on reading strategies in class and reading sentences and short books, but the one-on-one practice that they can get at home will be so valuable for them. Please continue reviewing your child's sight words from this 3rd period, and from the 1st and 2nd periods regardless of their reading level. By the end of the year, they will have to be on a minimum level of a C, and should be on at least a level D.

Reading assessments are also this week. Please remember, your child will stay home either Tuesday or Wednesday. Testing dates were sent home before the Easter break.

The May Crowning of Mary will be next Friday, May 1st.
Students may wear light blue ribbons or bows, and socks on this day. We also ask each child to bring a flower for Mary; this can be a flower from your yard or garden!
