To Teach our students Roman Catholic values in an environment of academic excellence.
March 2, 2026
All 3 of these class leaders are allowed to bring a show-n-tell each day of this week.
I was truly so proud of all the student's progress shown on their observation reports! We have adjusted the reading levels of the books that are will come home according to reading results during report card testing. These books, their comprehension of what they are reading, and knowing their sight words help improve their reading levels. Please be diligent about listening to them read to you. If the books that come home seem too challenging or too easy, please let us know and we will switch them out with other ones; you don't have to wait until the next week! We are very proud of the hard work they have put forth, and progress they have made!
Qualities of a Good Reader
Great reading is more than just sounding out letters and words. It involves thinking on many levels. When we use modeling, practice, and reflection, we can help the students to think while they read and build their comprehension.
Good readers:
Think about what they have just read
Make predictions as they read
Look at and use the pictures for comprehension
Identify a purpose for reading
Remember to ask them questions about the story as they read, and have them practice giving details about what happened after they have finished. Also, encourage them to relate themselves to the story or the characters, and ask them how they may have experienced something similar to the story.

Virtues in Practice
Our February virtue was Prudence; to
practice making good decisions in specific circumstances.
Congratulations to Hartman Ottinger, our February recipient!
Instead, we will watch Mass in our classroom on the Promethean board.

We are very low on hand sanitizer and Meyers, Clorox, or Lysol all-purpose spray cleaner.
We are requesting for the girls to bring a bottle of hand sanitizer and
the boys to bring some type of bleach-free spray cleaner for the tables.
Thank you!!

Homework this week!
Don't forget to have your child begin sentences with capital letters and use punctuation at the end of the sentence!
***Use "My Prayers" booklet to practice correct wording in prayers
The small prayer for those in Purgatory that came home in the folders last week can be added to this booklet of prayers. The students do NOT have to memorize this prayer. We have been saying it in class daily as one of our extra prayers during Lent. The asked for their own copy! ❣️
