Spring is quickly approaching , along with a busy schedule of lots of things to look forward to! We will have our Easter egg hunt on March 27th on the front lawn of Father Chester's home, Le'Veche. This will begin at 1:30 and you are all welcome to come. The students will need an Easter basket on this day. We will be collecting 12 stuffed eggs from each student. Detaills will be listed in the reminders below!
Our next field trip will be Monday, April 20th. We will be going to Zoosiana, our local zoo. All parents are also welcome to attend this field trip as a chaperone. Please indicate on the field trip form if you will be coming as a chaperone, and your FACTS account will be debited for both your entry fee and your child's, along with a ticket for the train ride. The students will have their lunch cost included in the charge of the field trip and they will be eating the zoo's provided lunch under the pavilion. You may bring your own lunch for yourself, or purchase a lunch at the zoo, then meet us at the pavilion close to the snake exhibit. We will meet you at the zoo the morning of the trip! More details will come as we get closer to the trip!

Math tests will come home Tuesday for parent signatures. If you notice more mistakes than normal, it may be that they are not listening more than not actually knowing how to subtract! Theses tests are very tricky, and I give them much more instruction than the test directions to help them feel calm and confident, and say it in different ways, multiple times. But, in the end, it is up to them to pay attention. We need them to pay close attention on all their work, listen to directions carefully, and check for mistakes. These Math tests can DEFINITELY be tricky, and definitely challenge their listening and higher level thinking skills. They will, however, need to get used to this for next year's lessons and tests in 1st grade when they are actually graded!

Please send in 12 stuffed Easter eggs, if possible, by Monday, March 16th, or as soon as you have them. If they are not staying securely closed, please put tape on each side. They can be stuffed with small trinkets (stickers, coins, non-chocolate and peanut free candy, etc.) We will put all the eggs in one large bag at school, and randomly number them with the student's "line-up" numbers. They won't be looking for the eggs that they bring. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The small St. Gertrude prayer, for those in Purgatory, that came home in the folders can be added to their booklet of prayers. The students do NOT have to memorize this prayer. We have been saying it in class daily as one of our extra prayers during Lent. They asked for their own copy! ❣️
