Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to our Easter egg hunt on Tuesday this week! I hope that everyone that was planning on coming to our original date is still able to come; we are so sorry about the last minute change! As we start to move towards Holy Week, we will be able to experience holy activities reminding us of Jesus' sacrifices he made for us. This Wednesday we will be able to attend the dress rehearsal of the 6th grader's Living Way of the Cross. Next week we will have our own re-inactment of the Last Supper and will be learning more about that in our Religion books this week. I have been so touched and impressed with the amount of almsgiving that has been taking place with the students in our class! The chores they have been doing to earn money, the lemonade stand money they have shared, or money from their own piggy banks are so sweet. Their hearts are so big, and they are so loving and generous; true disciples of Jesus! They have also been so eager to say decades of the rosary every day and meditate on the sorrowful mysteries. Each student has been taking a turn to lead the class, and they are doing amazing jobs! I know this must fill your hearts too; they are such blessings! Have a wonderful week!

If your child is reading at or below a "C" level at this point please be diligent about practicing all sight words that have been introduced and practicing their reading daily with the books we send home. Books on-line can be found on the website Epic or Raz Plus. The public library also has leveled books you can choose from and/or any books you may have at home are great to use. We work on reading strategies in class and reading sentences and short books, but the one-on-one practice that they can get at home will be so valuable for them. Please continue reviewing your child's sight words from this 3rd period, and from the 1st and 2nd periods regardless of their reading level. By the end of the year, they will have to be, at least, on a level C, and should be on a D. Be proud of how much they have accomplished in the first half of this year; we are!!

Our Easter egg hunt will be on March 24th on the front lawn of Father Chester's home, Le'Veche at 1:30.
You are all welcome to come. The students will need an Easter basket on Tuesday!

As we continue teaching the students about almsgiving and helping the poor, you may continue to send in money collected from the rice bowls for the poor or the Change for Miles campaign.
