March 11-15
WEEKLY NEWS:
WHAT A DAY! -As I am sure you have heard, my students were outside at recess, when unbeknownst to our staff, a full military funeral including a 21-gun-salute took place. Understandably, students were alarmed by the loud sounds and immediately came inside. While there were some who were extremely scared, I did my best to calm them down. We went into lockdown and prayed for a quick, safe resolution to whatever was happening. I quickly learned that it was a 21 gun salute, so I took the opportunity to teach them about what this is. I have to say that it melted my heart to see them comforting each other. I was so very proud of your children and the way that they handled this unexpected experience!
EASTER TREATS- Students are allowed to bring Easter Treats to exchange with the class. We will have a small celebration on Thursday, March 21. We have 25 students.
REMINDERS FROM PREVIOUS WEEKS:
GRAMMAR/SPELLING PACKETS- I am sure you have noticed that I have started making packets for each day. Occasionally, there will be an assigned page for homework. Otherwise, the additional pages are optional and may be used for extra practice.
