 If are a new CWRU student, you should have received an email “Please activate your CWRU credentials”  If you have not, please email me separately. 

THE FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION PROCESS

Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine

Financial aid may be available to students who are US citizens or permanent residents who meet all of the federal eligibility requirements and who complete all of the necessary applications.

1.       File the FAFSA:  After January 1, 2025, you may begin the process by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

2.       Our school code is :003137  Please note that you are considered a graduate/professional student .

You may arrange to have the information sent to several schools.   Since this takes the most processing time, you should  apply as soon as possible.

                NEW THIS YEAR:  All students applying for federal aid must complete the “ Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement : https://studentaid.gov/asla/

3.      File the Case application for financial aid. You will need your Case net Id and password:

Please indicate on our form if you wish to be considered for the Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL) .   Please note that this requires parental information. You will be contacted by the main office to send supporting documents ( tax forms, asset verification  etc. )

4.       If you have been selected for verification, you will be required to complete additional paperwork.  You will receive a message on the Student Aid Report ( SAR) if you have been selected for verification.

ONLY AFTER THE ABOVE STEPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WILL YOU RECEIVE A FINANCIAL AID AWARD

After the award has been determined you will have to complete the following to secure your loans.    .

1.       You must accept your financial aid award at : http://www.case.edu/financialaid/myfinancialaid/

2.       Complete an on-line entrance counseling www.studentloans.gov for both the unsubsidized and grad plus counseling

3.       Complete the Master Promissory Note(MPN) for the unsubsidized Direct loans :www.studentloans.gov

4.       Complete the promissory note for HPSL if that is part of your award.

5.       Decide to apply thru  either the Grad Plus loan or an approved private educational loan to fund the balance of your education ( including living expenses) . A fact sheet will be developed to assist you in comparing the different loan products. Please use the code G003024. The dates are August to May

ONLY AFTER THE ABOVE STEPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WILL YOUR AID BE RELEASED

Loans are disbursed during the first week of the  Fall and Spring semester

Please be advised that the only FAFSA code for Case Western Reserve University and  all programs is  0003137. 

If you have already submitted your FAFSA using a different code, please go back and change it. 

We can only receive FAFSA results using 003137
