The Office of Financial Aid will begin accepting financial aid applications in January 2024 through the university financial aid portal, My Financial Aid.
The deadline to apply for need-based institutional aid is March 16, 2026. Applications submitted after the deadline may not be awarded institutional aid. All perspective students are strongly encourage to submit their complete application as soon as they are able to ensure maximum consideration of available funds.

January 2026: CWRU SOM Financial Aid Application is available on My Financial Aid
March 16, 2026: Deadline to submit all financial aid application materials
April 2026: Financial Aid Award Notifications distribution
If you have not already done so, please provide your social security number on your iApply Status Page. Your social security number is used to create your student record and provide access to My Financial Aid, the University financial aid portal. This information will also be used to link your FAFSA to your record on My Financial Aid.
The Admissions Office will email to you your CWRU Network ID and Student ID number once your student record has been created. This information will also be accessible in the Financial Aid section of iApply.
Your CWRU Network ID must be activated before you can access My Financial Aid. Follow the instructions provided in the email or on iApply to activate your CWRU Network ID. It may take up to 24 hours for the activation to complete and access granted. Check whether your CWRU Network ID is activated and ready for use through the CWRU Network ID verification wizard.
Once your CWRU Network ID has been activated, you are now ready to begin the financial aid application process. Start by completing the CWRU Financial Aid Application on My Financial Aid . You will indicate on this form whether you wish to apply for need-based scholarships and federal loans or federal loans only. Once this form is submitted, other required documents corresponding to your choice will be added to the Documents and Messages page on the portal.
CWRU Financial Aid Application:
Go to My Financial Aid and log in using your activated CWRU Network ID and passphrase.
Click on Menu > CWRU Financial Aid Application
This will open a new window with a link to the application. (*most access errors can be resolved by switching browsers or to a mobile device)
Complete the FAFSA for the 2026-2027 academic year. Our school code is 003137.
Complete the 2026-2027 CSS PROFILE with both parent and student data. Our school code is 1104.
Biological parents in separate households must provide their information separately by submitting the CSS Profile for Noncustodial Parent.
Submit the following and all other requested documents via the upload links provided in the Documents section of My Financial Aid. All requested documents must be submitted via this secure upload system. Documents submitted by other methods will not be accepted.
Both Biological Parents’ 2024 Federal Income Tax Return(s) including all applicable schedules and W-2s
Student (and Spouse, if applicable) 2024 Federal Income Tax Return(s) including all applicable schedules and W-2s

Please do not email documents containing social security numbers.

Am I considered independent or dependent for financial aid?
All graduate and professional students are considered independent for federal student loans. For CWRU SOM institutional scholarships and loans, you are considered dependent if you will be under the age of 30 at the time of matriculation. An exception to this policy will be granted if you have dependents under the age of 18 or are a service member/veteran.
Is it OK if I redact the social security numbers on tax forms and W2s?
Yes. The social security numbers of parents, student, and other family members may be redacted for privacy.
How should I send in my documents?
All documents should be uploaded to My Financial Aid. We do not accept documents by mail, email, or fax.
I am having trouble uploading my documents. What should I do?
Make sure your file is within the size limit for upload. The upload link might need to be reset if a prior attempt failed. Please email us at medfinancialaid@case.edu if you experience upload issues .
My parents (or I) worked abroad in 2022 and have foreign tax documents. Are there special steps to submitting foreign tax documents?
Please translate the documents (i.e. wages, gross income, business income, investments, etc.) to English and convert all monetary information to USD. Make sure to label the documents as converted. A professional translation is not required.
What should I do if I am unable to provide parental information due to extenuation circumstances?
Send an email to the Office of Financial Aid at medfinancialaid@case.edu briefly describing your circumstance and a member of our team will reach out to you regarding next steps . A Parent Information Waiver can be granted on a case-by-case basis.
How do I know if my documents uploaded successfully?
The status of each uploaded document will change from "Not Received" to "Not Reviewed" once an upload is initiated. Allow 2-3 business days for uploaded documents to be reviewed by our office. The status of received documents will change from "Not Reviewed" to "Approved" once they have been reviewed.
You will receive an email confirmation once your application file is considered complete.
Documents that are illegible or have missing pages will be marked as "Incomplete" and a new upload must be made. Applicants with incomplete documents will be notified by email.
How do I know if my application is complete?
Your financial aid application is complete when all application documents listed under Documents and Messages are labeled as "Approved" and/or "Received". No action is required once your application is complete. Financial Aid Award Notifications will be released by email in March, 2024.
