Important Dates

August- February Interview season                                                            

February 19, 2026 “Plan to Enroll” option becomes available for accepted applicants in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School. Tool                                        

April 15, 2026 Accepted applicants may hold no more than three acceptances (if applicable).

April 30, 2025 “Plan to Enroll” required in AMCAS Choose Your Medical School and release all other acceptance offers. You may remain on waitlists at this point if you choose to stay in the "Plan to Enroll" status.           

April 30, 2026 “Commit to Enroll” becomes available for accepted applicants in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool. You must remove yourself from waitlists when selecting this status.                                      

May 26, 2026 “Commit to Enroll” required for MSTP deadline. 

June 1, 2026 "Commit to Enroll” required for University Program and CCLCM. Must select the “Commit to Enroll” action in AMCAS no later than noon EST and release all  waitlist offers.

July 1, 2026 Start date for MSTP

The Decision Process (All Programs)

Step 1

Accepted applicants may select “Plan to Enroll” as early as February 19, 2026. Per our school-specific policies, an applicant whose first choice is Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (any program), must indicate “Plan to Enroll” via AMCAS action no later than on April 30, 2026, although we ask that you indicate this status as early as possible. At this point, you must also withdraw from any other acceptances you may be holding (although you may remain on waitlists). Failure to indicate this status by April 30, 2026 may result in rescission of your acceptance to our school. It is your responsibility to notify us should any extenuating circumstances arise that would prevent you from complying with this requirement.

Step 2

As described in the AAMC Acceptance Protocols, we require that applicants hold no more than three acceptances after April 15, 2026.  It is your responsibility to notify us should any extenuating circumstances arise that would prevent you from complying with this requirement.

Step 3

Accepted applicants may select the “Commit to Enroll” action in AMCAS as early as April 30, 2026; in order to assist with our enrollment management, if our school is your first choice, we ask you to indicate this action as early as possible.  Please note the following. All accepted applicants to the:

• University Program and CCLCM who plan to attend CWRU SOM must select the “Commit to Enroll” action in AMCAS no later than noon EST on Monday, June 1, 2026.   

• MSTP applicants who plan to attend CWRU SOM must select the “Commit to Enroll” action in AMCAS no later than May 26, 2026.

At this time, you must withdraw from all waitlists on which you remain and/or from any other acceptances you are holding (if applicable) to signal your final commitment to attend our school. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in rescission of your acceptance to our school.

Additional Acceptances After April 30th:

Per our school-specific processes, if you are holding a position in our class and receive another acceptance offer after April 30th and prior to our June 1st deadline (May 26th for MSTP), you must notify us via email within 24 hours:

• University Program: casemed-admissions@case.edu

• CCLCM: cpmed-admissions@ccf.org  

• MSTP:  mstp@case.edu

In this email you should indicate which school has made the offer, and the amount of time you have to respond to it.

Withdrawal Processes:

If another school or another CWRU SOM MD program is your choice for matriculation, you should withdraw your acceptance(s) through your iApply status page.

Glossary of Acceptance Terms:

Plan to Enroll: Applicants can begin to select “Plan to Enroll” for their top medical school choice in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool.  Applicants may hold waitlist positions at other schools and can continue to hold multiple acceptances until April 30th.  We ask that you choose this action as early as possible if our school is your top choice.  You may hold waitlist positions at other schools while in the "Plan to Enroll" status.

Commit to Enroll:  Applicants can select “Commit to Enroll” when they are ready to make their final selection in the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool.  This indicates that you have withdrawn all other applications, including waitlist positions from other schools, and that you are holding only one, final acceptance.
