2026 - 2027 Academic Year

The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (CCLCM) will provide financial aid services and support for you throughout your five years with CCLCM.  Students enrolled in CCLCM receive a full tuition scholarship.  Select fees are also covered by CCLCM.  In the research thesis year, a continuation fee equal to 5 percent of tuition, and select fees are also covered by CCLCM.  Our goal is to ensure that financial constraints do not preclude students from following their dream of becoming physician investigators.  

Only students who want to take out student loans to cover living expenses and other educational expenses associated with attending medical school need to complete the financial aid application process.  Applying for financial aid is a multi-step process, and we will try to make it as smooth as possible.  Please submit all required financial aid information by the June 1, 2026 deadline to ensure that you receive your financial aid award offer in time, so that your aid disbursement is not delayed.

CWRU Network ID and Access

If you have not done so already, please enter your social security number on your iApply Status Page.  Your social security number will be used to create your student record and provide you access to the University financial aid protal, My Financial Aid.   Your social security number will also be  used to link your FAFSA to your record on My Financial Aid.

When your student record is created, you will receive an email from the CCLCM Admissions Office including your CWRU Network ID and Student ID number.  You can also obtain this information in the Financial Aid section of iApply.  Your CWRU Network ID must be activated before you can access My Financial Aid.   Follow the instructions in the email and/or the iApply Financial Aid section to activate your CWRU Network ID.  It is important to note that it may take about 24-48 hours for the activation to complete, as your IDs are propagated throughout various University servers.

Step 1 

Complete your FAFSA for the 2026-2027 academic year and remember to put our school code 003137 -  Case Western Reserve University.  Please note that we  do not require parent data on the FAFSA.  

Step 2 

Once your CWRU Network ID has been activated and you have completed the FAFSA, you are ready to complete the CWRU Financial Aid Application - CCM, which can be found on My Financial Aid portal. 

Instructions for accessing the CWRU Financial Aid Application - CCM:

• • Go to the My Financial Aid portal and log in using your activated CWRU Network ID and passphrase.

  • At the top left-hand corner, click on 'Menu'.  

  • Then navigate to the 'CWRU Financial Aid Application - CCM'.

  • This will take you to a new screen to fill out the form.

Let us know if you experience log in issues with the financial aid portal.  Please note that CCLCM does not require financial information from your parents or tax forms.

FAQs

Do all students need to fill out the financial aid application or only those that want to borrow money for living expenses?

No, all students do not need to complete the application.  However, the application should be completed by those that plan to take out loans for living expenses and other educational related expenses. 

Do I need to provide my parents tax information?

No, CCLCM does not require your parents tax information. 

Do I need to provide my tax information?

No, CCLCM does not require your tax information.

How do I know my application is complete?

Your application is complete when all application documents listed under Documents and Messages are labeled as "Approved" and/or "Received".  No action is required once your application is complete.  Financial Aid Award Offer notification will be sent to your CWRU email by early June 2026.

AAMC Budgeting Worksheet:

We know that getting ready to accept your loans and deciding how much money you want to borrow can be daunting.  We recommend that you use the AAMC Budgeting Worksheet to create a monthly budget that will work for you.  Then compare to our Cost of Attendance (COA) budget.  Make sure that your budget does not exceed our budget; ideally and realistically your budget should be less than ours!
