Director of Operations Board Report
November 5, 2025
Good Evening,
Facilities:
As Fall sports wrap up we continue with fall cleanups and preparation for the winter season. We are still cleaning areas around the district to remove debris from past years. We have removed all scrap metal from the bus garage filling (2) 40 yard dumpsters. This included some materials that were removed from CHS, Solon, and GSS. All our HVAC systems have been serviced and are in good working order. All our heating systems are working and functioning properly. We are reviewing some components of the systems for repair at CHS and GSS. Fall roof inspections at the schools have been completed. This includes a lengthy review of our roof systems looking for imperfections that could lead to water penetrations in the roof systems.
Following the recent CMP conversion we have finalized the review of our systems at CCS and CHS. A formal claim has been filed with CMP and our Insurance company for damages that it sustained at both schools during the conversion on the main lines. The failures at CHS were due to a transformer that was not shut off and took a power hit when energizing the lines. The conversion went from approximately 2400 volts of electricity to 7800 volts. The damage to CCS was due to a power surge that was recorded on the generator. This also damaged a surge protector that was installed on the main CCS electrical panels.
Damage sustained was the following:
· CHS Industrial Arts Building:
o Fire Panel – complete replacement
o Heating system – board replacement on both units
o Concession stand – GFCI receptacles replaced
· CCS:
o Power Surge Protector – loss of main lug
o Approx. 20 ballast replaced for lighting
o 5 printers
o Small Office equipment – Supers Office
o Air Handler Fuses
o Pellet Boiler Fuses
We hope that we have explored and found all issues that may have happened due to this conversion.
Transportation:
This year student’s behaviors have been our highlight in transportation. We have spent many man hours reviewing bus video for inappropriate conduct and behaviors. We are working hard with the drivers to curb those behaviors to ensure a safe ride to and from school.
We have combined the Anson lower village from 3 to 2 runs. With the help of the team we have reviewed and combined the Anson runs. We are 2 weeks into the change and everything if running very smooth.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Christopher Roux
