School Lunch Information
RSU #74 MEDIA RELEASE 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR
RSU #74 schools participate in the Community Eligible Provision. This provision is referred to
as CEP. All students enrolled in any RSU #74 school may participate in the School Breakfast
Program and the National School Lunch Program at no charge due to this program and the
legislation passed in Maine that began with the 2022–2023 school year, School Meals for All.
Studies show that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing both a
balanced breakfast and lunch at no cost to students, we are helping to create a better learning
environment. Please remember however, if a student is interested in a snack or cold lunch milk,
the cost for each carton is currently 45 cents.
Free & Reduced applications are not required to receive free meals this year but forms similar to
the application will be part of the online yearly registration or can be provided in paper copy by
your students’ school office. This form requesting household economic information supports
many programs at our schools, such as Title I programs and many grants, that support our
students and helps to lower local taxes. Completing the form can also help families with reduced
college and internet fees as well as possible consideration for the SUN BUCKS program which
provides funds during the summer to help with groceries while school is out. Please complete
and return the form. Only one form per household is needed.
The school meals that we serve follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy
school meals. The School Breakfast and Lunch Programs cannot succeed without your support;
please encourage your children to participate in the school meals programs.

writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address,
telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient
detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an
alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA
